Worcester Bosch Company History

Worcester, Bosch Group was founded in 1962 in Worcester and over the years, the company has implanted its feet in the sand of time, especially when it comes to heating and boiler products, installations, and services.

A brief history

With its formation 1962, Worcester, Bosch Group, has grown from a small engineering company to an undeniable market leader in the UK heating and boiler market. Its first business premise was at the Old Vinegar Works in St. Martins Gate, Worcester and in 1968, the company moved to its new premises. From 1970 upwards, the company came up with lucrative opportunities that saw it growing in leaps and bounds, including signing an agreement with a Japanese company, Sunwave, to manufacture Worcester’s Firefly Dynaflame boilers and Heatslave units, expansion of its Diglis factory in 1973.

The company suffered a huge loss in 1983 when the Diglis factory was razed down by fire but it seemed like a stepping stone to greater things as the factory was rebuilt a few months later. Also, in 1986, the company was floated on the London Stock Market and within 18 months, its shares leaped from £1.10 to £13.00.

It kept getting better

In 1996, Worcester officially became a part of the Worldwide Bosch Group. Some of the company’s product ranges include hot water cylinders, gas and oil boilers, renewable technologies like solar water heating systems and heat pumps. The company also produces controls and accessories for these major products.

With its commitment to offering products designed with the highest available standards, the company has received multiple awards from very credible bodies and organizations. For seven years in a row, the company has continued to receive the much coveted Which Best Buy awards. Another significant achievement of the company is being awarded the Royal Warrant to supply boilers to the Sandringham Estate of Her Majesty, The Queen.
